It was always a joy teaching my students, and learning from them at the same time. Interacting with kids ranging from as young as 7 to teenagers aged 16 has posed many different challenges but also provided immeasurable rewards. Being able to positively impact someones's life by changing their belief, making them more confident and having greater confidence in themselves, even when society says otherwise has been one of the greatest rewards.

Working in a SME, I had an abundance of opportunities to learn directly from the leaders of the company, namely the founders. Being in an events company has exposed me to a lot of new experiences, from the creatives (making slides and presentations to present to clients and brainstorming new ideas) to the interpersonal (meeting new people everyday and conducting myself on a professional level)

It was a fun holiday part-time job where I got to pick up many skills by being on the front-end and meeting many customers everyday. Customer service is one of the most important skills I picked up, where I learned how to attend to customers, and ensure that at the end of the day they not only got the dress they desired, they got the service they deserved too.

This job was a pivotal moment of my life where I was challenged to face many of my fears. Cold calling was one of them. I would get sweaty palms even before I got on the phone, but this working experience has allowed me to embrace the fears and even overcome it. I got better at it overtime, and as my work proved to pay off, I became more confident and better at what I was doing. It was a great experience as I got to learn a lot by attending meetings as well, and had the opportunity to learn the skills of selling.

An enjoyable part-time job that I will always remember. Great friendships were forged and great experiences and lessons were learnt as well. I particularly enjoyed interacting with customers, many of whom came from all parts of the world. I was able to do what I enjoyed, which was giving great customer service and ensuring that customers left with a smile on their face, happy with what they purchased and happy with the whole experience.
