Hired to accomplish the EPA National Significant Non-Compliance Initiative. I reviewed 1,587 facilities that were non-compliant with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems (NPDES) permits, working with wastewater treatment operators to correct violations and database errors, ultimately improving compliance by more than 34%.

As a Bioenvironmental engineering journeyman, my focus was on data collection and calculations to determine overexposures and advise corrective actions. As an industrial hygiene technician, I audited all base industrial and aircraft shops, completing occupational health and safety reports on each, identifying health threats, and recommending corrective actions such as engineering controls, PPE, and chemical substitutions. I managed the respiratory protection program for 530 personnel, inspected HAZCOM/safety/ergonomic/carcinogen programs to ensure compliance with OSHA standards, and trained hundreds of personnel on sampling of drinking water and the use of respirators. Throughout my military career, I was a first responder for full spectrum CBRNE/disaster incidents such as chemical spills and suspicious packages, identifying unknown agents using detection equipment and assessing health risks.
