During this time I spent most of the year at two schools covering medical leaves within Secondary science and day to day cover.

During my year at this position I developed many of my skills. I was in charge of teaching English, Mathimatics, Science, History, Geography, ICT and Art. I was able to take on a training teacher and pass on some of my skills before she went into her own classroom. I participated in coding and robotics club, builders club, science club, and art club.

Worked as a Year 4 teacher in a Church of England school. My classroom contained a variety of ability groups as well as EAL students. I was given the role of History and Geography subject leader.

Engage has given me many priceless opportunities to experience the UK education system to the fullest, which has only enhanced my teaching skills previously obtained in Canada. While with the company I have executed long term supply positions with secondary schools as a full time science teacher, as well as day to day in primary schools. I believe that with my experience in KS1, KS2, KS3 and KS4 it has enhanced my knowledge of where my students are coming from in their education career and where they need to go, allowing them to make the transition from primary to secondary seamlessly.

Teach a range of subjects that include English, Math, Social Studies, Science, Health, Careers, Music and Art. Furthermore, I took on the role of Science Lead at the school, which includes planning the science and career fair, preparing students for out of town science fairs, and managing the science budget and applying for grants.

Developed educational and environmental programmes based on a set park themes for children and adults. As well as helped maintain and develop the displays within the visitor centre. My contributions were recognized when I won 1 of 40 Ontario Parks Partners Bursary Award, I was the only one at my park to receive the award.
