I am a qualitative researcher and evaluation lead in the Education Studies practice area at Westat. I have over 15 years of experience conducting program evaluation and qualitative analysis for a number of research initiatives covering an array of topics - e.g., rural education and capacity building, childhood health and nutrition, educator evaluation systems, performance-based compensation, etc. As an evaluation lead, I oversee a range of tasks, including evaluation planning, survey and protocol development, and data collection, coding, analysis, and reporting. I also have several years of experience monitoring federally funded programs to assess compliance with federal and programmatic requirements; as well as experience providing technical assistance for education-centered initiatives at the federal, state, and district levels. Before joining Westat, I worked simultaneously as a research apprentice in the College of Education at the University of Maryland, College Park and was an executive assistant/project lead at the National Urban League's Washington Bureau. I was also a tutor and mentor to high school-age youth.
