I've been writing stories since I was seven. I've always known words would be my livelihood, and I wasn't wrong! I simply didn't anticipate the meandering journey I'd travel with words as my co-pilot.I've taught English as a second language to students in Thailand and creative writing classes to students at the University of Colorado. I even worked as a journalist and a newspaper layout editor for a few years. My first foray into the world of online content, however, came when I was hired to write for the start-up travel website, HomeandAbroad.com in 2006. I've been writing and creating content for websites ever since. My career path has since taken me through a myriad of online content strategy and digital asset management landscapes. I contracted with the affiliate management company PMG, managing affiliate accounts and producing targeted content for social media and company blogs. For the past 11 years, I have managed digital content and assets for the City of Golden. I oversee user experience, content strategy and design for www.cityofgolden.net and www.guidinggolden.com. Most recently I've been working to ensure our sites and digital assets meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1 AA), and leading a complete website redesign of www.cityofgolden.net (soon migrating to .gov!).I embrace education and self-improvement. I have a certificate in Graphic Design, and am currently working on my Google UX Design Professional Certificate. I have a passion for digital accessibility.I still love writing - always will - but also have a tool belt full of additional skills that I am excited to bring to the table, including expertise in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and AfterEffects, and I love strategizing with Figma. I'm empathic, creative, and disinterested in "business as usual". Specialties & Strengths: UX Content Design and Content Strategy, UX Writing, Editing, Digital Accessibility, and Creative Writing. And yes, I do love an Oxford comma, but I'm not married to it. We have an arrangement.
