Responsible for marketing of summer food program for the school district. Implemented salad bar at one of the campuses along with assistant director and kitchen manager. Traveled to various campuses to supervise meal times and help food service staff when needed. Tested and standardized a new recipe under the supervision and guidance of the assistant director. Organized booth content and educational materials for various community health fairs with area supervisor.

Worked under the supervision of the nutrition program director who introduced me to the "family style" type of dining used in Head Start. Created nutritional handouts for parents and food safety related posters for children. Gave in-service to parents in regards to healthy meal patterns for children between the ages of 3-5 years.

Counseled pregnant, lactating, and post-partum mothers on specific dietary concerns/issues under the supervision of WIC nutritionist. Created directory for food pantries located in the community for families in need. Learned how to document counseling sessions according to format used by WIC clinic. Gave nutrition related class at WIC facility and promoted WIC services around the community with clinic clerk.

Worked under the supervision of the dietitians on staff. I screened and assessed patients daily in order of priority. Conducted interviews regarding diet and educated patients on various diets using handouts. I implemented the ADIME format as part of the nutrition care process. Participated in calorie counts and screened patients for malnutrition according to the hospital's guidelines. I performed enteral and parenteral calculations for a variety of patients in order to provide them with adequate nutrition. Created and presented a PowerPoint to certain hospital staff in regards to nutrition as part of an in-service. Interacted with the community through health fairs and health fair screenings with the clinical nutrition manager. Interacted with the appropriate staff in regards to patients' diets and participated in rounds with RD and other members of the health care team. Became familiar with Meditech software as used by hospital.

Worked with the child nutrition program director and dietitian. I was able to attend meetings in regards to school lunch menus, budgeting, and construction. I assisted the dietitian in health fairs where I was able to interact with members of the community and educate parents on the school lunch menu. The dietitian also instructed me on the various special diets that exist, the potential dangers of a child being exposed to an allergen on school property, and how to react to such dangers.

Worked in the food production area of one of the district's campuses. I assisted the food service employees with food production, testing recipes, standardizing recipes, food distribution, and sanitizing the kitchen. I also worked with the assistant director who taught me the school meal patterns and guidelines and how to fill out food production records.
