My name is Clark Baird. I am a student at the University of Texas at Dallas and I belong to the Jindal School of Management. I am hoping to learn more about emerging technology systems and develop my skills by obtaining a bachelor's degree in Information Technology and Systems.Ever since I accidentally deleted an essay in middle school, I've been fascinated with how data is stored. Throughout my computer science classes, I became increasingly interested in the way data can be utilized to reveal previously unseen trends.I have family in the banking industry and I would frequently hear stories about frustrating new systems imposed by the bank, or a particular software not functioning. I wish to be able to alleviate that pain by pursuing a career in the Information Technology field.I spent the majority of my free time during my middle and high school years practicing tennis and attending tournaments. For a brief period in high school, I was a part of the theatre program as well. Juggling sports, arts, and academics while still getting 8 hours of sleep was a challenge at first but it prepared me for the busy nature of college and work life.I learned from my past work experiences how to always see a job to completion, learn from the mistakes of myself and others, and complete larger tasks one step at a time.In the future, I hope to land an internship in the field of IT or data science to get hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of the fields I am studying.
