He also consults with persons who wish to purchase or sell professional sports teams. Mr. Griffith is the 2009 winner of the Joseph P.O’Neill Award for his contributions to the sports industry. He was Treasurer and a Member of the Executive Committee of the Women’s Sports Foundation until 2006. . Mr. Grififth is very a very experienced sports business consultant. Mr. Griffith was part owner, Treasurer and an Executive with the Minnesota Twins. He had responsibilities in the area of player contract negotiation and arbitration, player scouting and development, player union relations, governmental relations, finance and business matters. He was a successful lobbyist before the Minnesota Legislature for the bill authorizing the construction of the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, and negotiated stadium use agreements for the Metrodome and Metropolitan Stadium.Mr. Griffith was Chairman of the Board of Major League Baseball Properties. During his tenure as Chairman, MLB Properties launched its national and international trademark licensing program and created its broadcast and marketing divisions. He also served on the baseball Player Relations Committee.Mr. Griffith was educated at Dartmouth College and the William Mitchell College of Law. Mr. Griffith served in the U.S. Navy.
