Mr. Rivers is a Junior Engineer for Turnipseed Engineers providing engineering services to small and medium-sized communities particularly with water resources and wastewater management. In his current role, he supports development of engineering plans and specifications for clients by providing engineering drawings of proposed improvements and adhering to applicable standards for each project. In addition to that, Mr. Rivers provides Preliminary Engineering Reports (PER) to clients to evaluate alternative options and makes recommendations on the best option that fits within the client’s budget and timeline. He assists his clients in a variety of ways from funding acquisition of federal and state sponsored grants to logistical aspects of project execution which includes permit application, contractor bid openings, pre-construction meetings, and shop drawing reviews to ensure all contract requirements are being met. In addition, Mr. Rivers provides expert opinions on hydraulic engineering for industrial clients when requested to improve plant efficiency and capacity to increase throughput.Prior to joining Turnipseed Engineers, Mr. Rivers served as Safety Basis Engineer for the Concentration, Storage, and Transfer Facilities (CSTF) at the Savannah River Site (SRS). Mr. Rivers is a certified Engineer-In-Training (EIT) with the State of South Carolina and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (B.S.M.E) from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina.
