● Counsel a diverse body of students from disadvantaged backgrounds and coordinate Upward Bound programs and activities. ● Advise students on general academic concerns including concurrent enrollment, financial aid, class registration, and more.● Recruit twenty-five qualified students to participate in the Upward Bound program at each high school totaling fifty students (Orem High & Provo High). ● Teach weekly group guidance activities on a wide array of topics including self-discovery, goal setting, career preparation, and more. ● Administer self-evaluation measures such as the BAR-ON emotional intelligence assessment and the Self-Directed Search career interest’s assessment and review results with each student. ● Tutor students in preparing to take the ACT and SAT college admissions tests. ● Utilize technology in maintaining regular contact with all student participants and disseminating relevant information such as registration deadlines.● Maintain up to date records of student participation and academic performance. ● Report annual performance of the Upward Bound program to the Federal Government in which we met all Mandatory objectives including 90% of students achieved above a 3.0 on a four-point scale. ● Ensure that 100% of High School Seniors completed at least one college application and FAFSA application.
