For a long time I've found myself compelled to tell stories through the characters I draw or conceive of within my sketchbook. But their story doesn't start with the first sentence, it starts with how they look and present themselves. Why they wear the clothes they wear, or why they carry an ancient relic, a long lost family heirloom, or a weird sword they found inside a dumpster! I think storytelling for games and shows is taking on a whole new level of depth this past few years, with more and more diverse creatives taking the front stage of the world to show the kind of story they have to share. For me, I'm interested in telling stories about desperation, recovery, and redemption. Why? Because I know there are others out there who need to hear my story and feel seen.
