Similar to impact investing, the terms Faith-Based or Business As Mission describe the type of person; whether operator, owner, investor, or professional. The experience has several events over a 36 hour period, at multiple venues and in multiple formats, to appeal to a variety of attendees. The Main Event is a shark tank-style, pitch competition with innovative live audience voting. A Professional Summit was created to dive deeper into the growing dynamics of this emerging market. The 2019 event drew approx. 700 to the Main Event, 200 to the Professional Summit, and the attendees came from 11 countries, 80+ cities, and close to 30 U.S. states. Other events have developed from this venue, in Dallas and abroad. I played a strategic role in either starting, operating, or advising these events and new groups. To date, these events have enabled presenting companies to receive north of $30 million in new funding from exposure to attendees. -

I created new branding, event website, and several other operational needs during this narrow timeframe.A technology & services start-up to encourage better education and insight for youth athletic development. Fitness/health were natural by-products of this goal as well. The company evaluated over 700 athletes during 2013, ran several pilot programs to gauge possible lines of business and developed relationships in medicine, business, and education. We closed the company due to several factors and constraints. It was difficult to leave this sector, though I still advise & connect people in sports-related businesses to each other.
