Developed real time embedded software for Motorola’s CMTS (cable modem termination system) using C and C++. Worked with domestic and off-shore teams to accomplish design goals. Mentored junior engineers and colleagues in use of various design components and utilities.• Designed and implemented QHSMs (quantum hierarchical state machines) for controlling DOCSIS transactions for both modem registration and deregistration on RX48. Modem registration milestone on new product was quickly achieved due to solid design and testing.• Designed and implemented the configuration and control interface for the Cable Traffic Management feature on the BSR 64000. Followed object-oriented design methodology incorporating use of UML (unified modeling language) to design the class architecture. The feature was successfully delivered to a large customer under an extremely aggressive schedule. • Designed and implemented the user interface for configuring and retrieving statistics for the Pre-DOCSIS 2.0 Downstream Channel-Bonding feature. Received a BRAVO award for the development effort, as the deadline was met under an aggressive schedule.• Served on design team responsible for architecture of sub-transaction management utility on RX48 card. Library successfully controlled more detailed operations within transactions running on the CMTS.• Served on scalability team. Met regularly with both domestic and off-shore colleagues from software engineering, system test and management to assess performance results and triage faults on large scale systems. This team effort allowed for a more stable customer release.• Assisted in the design to Ensure SNR Stability in an Upstream Channel-Bonding System Using a T4 Timeout Multiplier. Applied for patent application number 13/461329 on 5/1/2012.

As a member of the software engineering team, designed and implemented Media 100’s award winning 844/X video editing, effects and compositing system.• Participated in design and specification reviews for various support components allowing us to create beneficial utility classes with intuitive interfaces.• Implemented object oriented design of many of the application’s interface and supporting classes in C++ using Microsoft Visual C++ under Windows XP.• Specified and implemented the Digital Media Acquire, Master to Tape, Audio Control and Machine Control subsystems interfaces.

Effectively communicated and coordinated development among team members from multiple companies to pioneer this potential industry standard.• Played key role in the successful design and development of the DT-Open Layers data acquisition architecture. This provided a single functional interface in which end-users accessed any data acquisition device. This design made it possible to develop device drivers for new products in days rather than months.• Developed data acquisition device drivers, VxDs, ActiveX controls, SDKs and applications conforming to DT-Open Layers Data Acquisition specifications.• Led software engineering team in development of various data acquisition and imaging products while simultaneously continuing as a full-time development engineer.
