About Clarke Mcallister

As founder and President of ADASA, Clarke leads this IP company to provide RFID solutions for leading retailers, consumer brands, and global supply chain trading partners. A key contribution to the industry is the now globally adopted technique of assuring that each RFID tag has a unique SGTIN number. GS1 member companies and tag serialization working group leaders chose ADASA’s number pre-allocation scheme to overcome the inadequacies of the Internet to distribute numbers on a real-time basis. Assurance of globally unique numbers is as critical to RFID as unique IP addresses are to the Internet; it is fundamental.ADASA’s patent portfolio includes robotic inventory reading solutions that provide accuracy beyond what is attainable from workers using handheld readers, thus eliminating the final weakness of RFID automation. Omni-channel retailing is a major driver of our work, enabling brick-and-mortar retailers to compete with online retailers like Amazon. Traditional retail stores must serve as forward warehouses to fulfill demand from online shoppers; a challenge that can only be met with daily robotic inventory updates.Specialties: RFID tag encoding, and robotic RFID inventory scanning for accurate labor-free inventory visibility.

Clarke Mcallister Work Experience Details
  • Adasa Inc.
    President
Adasa Inc. Aug 2004 - Present
ADASA Inc. develops intellectual property and solutions using radio frequency identification (RFID). Brick and mortar retailers are striving to compete with online retailers like Amazon for customers, competitive prices, and same-day delivery. To win they must use in-store inventory to fulfill online orders. That requires efficient and accurate inventory counts, preferably on a daily basis. RFID-reading robots that fly through the stores at night perform that function without incurring errors or labor costs. All of this requires RFID tags with globally unique serial numbers that are based on GS1 standards; which is entirely based on the ADASA ‘198 patent.ADASA has more technologically advanced tagging solutions than traditional printer vendors and service bureaus. In addition to assuring globally unique numbering, ADASA enables brand owners to protect their RFID tags from counterfeiters by preventing the outright cloning of legitimate tags. This is especially important for brand owners that have offshore contract manufacturers tagging goods for them – in regions of the world where counterfeiting runs rampant.
