I am an experienced trial lawyer at Gullett Sanford Robinson & Martin PLLC. I am certified as a specialist in Civil Trial Advocacy and Civil Pretrial Practice Advocacy by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.The matters I work on in my law practice are primarily Business Litigation, Labor & Employment Law, and Environmental Litigation. For many years, I have defended companies in contract, employment, environmental, construction, business tort, intellectual property, wrongful death, and personal injury cases.My clients include manufacturing companies, especially aluminum recycling and automotive manufacturing companies.From 1980-81, I clerked for then Chief Judge Thomas A. Wiseman, Jr., U.S. District Judge for the Middle District of Tennessee. After this clerkship, I joined Dearborn & Ewing, which was then the second largest firm in Nashville. I became a partner at D&E in 1988 and was made chair of the firm’s litigation section in 1989. At D&E, among many other cases, I participated in the trial of a significant environmental case and developed a reputation for excellence in environmental litigation. In 1989-91, I tried a multi-million dollar construction case before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris, France. After D&E folded in 1992, I had my own law practice, continuing to focus on business litigation, including environmental litigation.In 1994, I joined the Nashville office of Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart where I was a shareholder from 1994-98. At Ogletree, I became involved in Labor & Employment law and tried employment cases, including sexual harassment cases and labor arbitration cases.In 1998, I helped start the Nashville office of Brown Todd & Heyburn, which became Frost Brown Todd. I served as managing member of the Nashville office for several years. I have taught Remedies at the Nashville School of Law since 2003. I serve as an Administrative Law Judge for NES.
