Why me? Approximately 25 years ago, I caught the bug and realized the only way I would be happy in this industry was to help people do the right thing regardless of the situation or user type. The limitations I felt in the corporate world were too restrictive and prevented the custom solution that would match the issue. I started looking at family run companies and reached out to a few that I knew I could help. Before long, I was able to find companies that were looking for the personal touch without all the jargon that many of the boiler plate companies provide. After a few years, it became apparent that the personal touch combined with a focused technical approach was a winning combination and I left the safety of the day job and ventured out on my own. That was in 2001.Since that time, with the economic ups and downs, I have changed my business to match market demand - higher quality products that stand the test of time, security in a layered approach, changing hardware components to new technology saving thousands in the total replacement process of laptops and desktops and the latest craze of moving expensive local resources to the cloud to reduce maintenance, hardware, software and labor costs. Every day is a new exercise in determining a new more cost efficient method to accomplish what worked yesterday and keep the company moving into tomorrow. You do that? I can’t tell you how many times people that I work with find out about a facet of my business they were unaware of. But, how do you tell someone everything with totally overwhelming them? You can’t – all you can do is to be there when they have an issue and resolve it and become the go-to-guy the next time there’s an issue.
