I worked in support for Fortify, under the HP Enterprise Security Products arm. I was tasked with providing support for all of Fortify's security products, with particular emphasis on their Static Code Analyzer (SCA) and Software Security Centre (SSC) products. This required me to be able to troubleshoot problems related, but not limited, to Java memory, RAM allocation and general performance.During my time at this position my understanding of potential security vulnerabilities, and how to identify and overcome them has increased drastically.This position required me to be in constant communication with customers from many different organisations, and countries. This gave me confidence in my communication abilities,and lead me to see I am a much better communicator than I would of initially given myself credit. I became rather good at reading customers wants and needs, and was able to tailor the depth of my responses based on the abilities of the customer.

My role was flexible so that I could fill the position of any of the other guides, but mainly involved guiding groups of both parents and prospective students around the campus, as well as setting up and maintaining the welcome room in the school of Computing Sciences.
