Company Profile:- Equities fund manager, based in Sydney CBD.- Long-only international fund.Job Description:- Multi-faceted role involving equities analysis (75%) and business development (25%).- Reported directly to the CIO.Responsibilities:- Identify potential investments using Bloomberg/FactSet screens and other resources (media releases, portfolios of other fund managers, news or broker feedback).- Prepare comprehensive due diligence checklists.- The due diligence checklist included: a brief summary of the business; the top ten shareholders; a look into the management structure and wage policy; an analysis of the company’s auditors; market capitalisation; net cash analysis; a history of return on equity; a detailed analysis of the competition; margins and their sustainability; tax; potential risks; country risk assessment (due to the fact that the fund was international); a history of the company’s P/E ratio; analysis of the dividend policy; a recorded conversation with the investor relations team; detailed research into all products provided by the company; an analysis of the latest annual reports; and a detailed review of all notes by analysts who covered the stock.- Prepared financial models for each investment, which was a discounted cash-flow model that fed directly from Bloomberg or FactSet. The feasibility read the latest Balance Sheet and P&L values and placed them in the model to project future sales.
