Out of all my interests and life pursuits, acoustic guitar has played a big role in who I am and what I like. As a performer, owner, student, and enthusiast of acoustic guitars I plan to find ways to continue to incorporate my love for music and guitar into my life. My lifelong interest in guitars began at the age of five with my sister’s hand me down Harmony which was played endlessly. At ten years old, my first lesson came from a Nun on an Epiphone acoustic guitar, a gift from my parents. In high school I studied two years of music theory. Thus began my passion for playing and performing. After starting to really play, I read everything I could get my hands on about the subject of guitars. Although I have no formal training, my enthusiasm and curiosity has led me to be well versed. My informal research included studying different sounds between brands and styles. I like electric guitars but have been partial to acoustic because it ‘feels’ good to me. There is something organic in the way it feels and sounds that I absolutely love. I continue to study how the different woods create different sounds. I have an appreciation for handmade guitars and have researched brands, the history, and followed the great guitar players of our time. Hands on knowledge and my collection of books, documentaries, and magazines keep me current on the industry. As a player who understands the sounds, tunes and music I appreciate the performance of a guitar made by luthiers over one manufactured in the factory.Every chance I get I find myself in guitar shops around Texas playing the best guitars out there from vintage to the latest.
