I left corporate America at the age of 37, I had a wife and two young boys, ages 4 and 2. I just left because I was sick and tired of being told what to do. They controlled my life, I didn't like that at all. I wanted to be free to do what I wanted. This was back in 1993, I really had no idea what I was going to do to provide for my family. I started delivering sandwiches for a local deli, did that for 2 years. Then I decided to get my License to sell insurance, I took the last $75 to take the test, I passed. The only thing was that Insurance was all commissions. I worked many jobs sometimes 2 or 3. I found myself at home on my knees praying to God that something would happen. I was about to lose my house, bills were piling up, this was my lowest point. A couple of days go by and I get a phone call from my friend Kevin, he asks me what I know about Air Freight, I told him no idea. Next thing I know I get all these VCR tapes, you remember those. I applied for the job as a driver with the intent to become the Manager. Within 6 months I knew 90% about Air Freight and became the new Manager, this happens in '98. I know, corporate America. I still knew that I would own my own business some day. The Headquarters for this company was in Chicago, I was in one of their satellite offices. Guess what happens? That's right, the close. This is in 2001, here I am again. Just got back on my feet saved the house, everything was normal. I ended up driving a truck delivering provisions, had to get up at 2 AM and got home around 4 P.M., sometimes later. Jumping to 2005, I ended up owning The Learning Center from 2005 to 2013 until I had a bad accident and had to close the doors. Here I am 6 year later, 2019, I wanted to spread Goodwill and that is why I started CGB Travel Savings. There is so much more....
