Claude Williams is supporting Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute, as a visiting scientist. He is engaged with the CERT program's Insider Threat Team where he is furthering the development of a technical threat analysis methodology for insider attacks along the lines of IT sabotage, fraud, and espionage. In support of the development of this methodology, Mr. Williams is spending 80 to 120 hours a month, for the next 6 months, working with a team of experts including lawyers and psychologists examining motives of attacks, precursors to attacks, and employee disgruntlement management techniques.

As an (ISC)2 contractor in the role of Sales and Marketing Vice President, Claude L. Williams was responsible for the operations of international sales efforts. Mr. Williams played a critical role in the development of sales strategies for generating revenues from certification examination candidates and training seats. His innovation in the development of the operational structure for selling included, implementing new structures for strategic alliances, corporate and government sales, and customer relations, as well as dynamic promotional programs to grow market share. His marketing responsibilities focused on target and direct marketing while he vigorously supported the overall brand awareness and market penetration initiatives by developing and cultivating strategic relationship with organizations like CA and Microsoft. He managed an international team of professionals with a spirit of cooperation, motivation, and authority. Mr. Williams left (ISC)2 in August of 2008 to pursue a opportunities to further support the profession of information security through his own vision and company.

Mr. Williams was responsible for the coordination, management, and oversight of enterprise services project teams, management of enterprise services project personnel, and program quality assurance and process improvement. In addition, Mr. Williams worked with the marketing manager and business developers to identify, track, and lay the ground work for potential opportunities. He performed RFP and opportunity benefits analysis, and provided executive management with decision support. He coordinated proposal efforts and assisted in developing teaming agreements to refine responses. For short-term contract awards, Mr. Williams provided project management; for long-term project awards, Mr. Williams provided program oversight. Mr. Williams provided technical capture management for proposal efforts by meeting with potential customers, providing technical presentations, and delivering unsolicited proposals.
