Managed grant for CA immigrant rights coalition, distributed $85,000 to ~20 organizations, coordinated RFP process, oversaw distribution of funds, and strengthened relationships between coalition and state partners.

Co-led campaign to pass and implement landmark “sanctuary state” legislation, including AB 4, AB 2792, and SB 54, distributing $250,000 to 50+ organizations and $86,600 to 15 county coalitions to support implementation, monitoring, community education and continued advocacy on the issue of local law enforcement collaboration with federal immigration authorities.Co-founded and co-led county-wide organizing strategy to stop and reverse the criminalization of immigrants, including planning and executing press conferences, staging community forums, and mobilizing partner organizations and community stakeholders. Campaign tactics and policy victories were later replicated and scaled nationally by the organization.Collaborated with Los Angeles Trade Tech College, the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, and local affiliate worker centers in the creation of a workforce development program for middle aged immigrant workers in the construction industry. Assisted in the design of a bilingual curriculum, recruited day labor workers to enroll in the program, and worked closely with community college and labor partners to ensure worker retention and program success.Le​d development of “Chant Down the Walls,” ​a series of concerts staged outside of immigrant detention centers and prisons to bring attention to human rights injustices and challenge the public narrative around immigrants. Communicated directly with local police departments to obtain permits and implement safety protocols.
