In this role, I pitched, edited, and managed long-form, data-driven stories for BU News Service. My responsibilities included attending our weekly staff meetings, drafting stories on Wordpress and supporting staff writers.

I contributed to the online publication with news articles, covering various beats including politics, health, and transportation. I covered the 2020 national elections by providing live coverage in Brookline, MA. In addition to my written articles, I produced three TV packages and participated in several podcast episodes

I assisted the professor of a Newswriting course with remote teaching, operating Zoom and leading class discussion. I also assisted students with their assignments and projects by offering feedback and support.

I produced blog posts for the website and updated social media accounts. I covered virtual events with live-tweeting and written recaps.

As the digital intern, I wrote, edited and published breaking news stories on NBC10 Boston and NECN Wordpress websites. I assisted the Social Media Editor by drafting, scheduling and posting social media posts on Twitter, Facebook. I created and re-published wire stories on the station’s Wordpress sites.

I covered the Statehouse beat for the Daily Hampshire Gazette, contributing to the publication with at least one article per week.

I assisted with the production of 10 podcast episodes over the course of three months. I pitched ideas at our weekly meeting, transcribed interviews, conducted research, edited audio and video. I also produced weekly marketing material for social media, using Premiere, Canva, and Headliner. In this role, I started and oversaw the production of a summer.

I managed all aspects of Coe College’s weekly publication, including writing, editing, and advertising. I led and managed a staff of over 10 students regarding layout, editorial issues, and weekly content. As an editor, I increased the Cosmos’ budget and circulation; raised the number of pages in each issue from 8 to 12.
