My eclectic background in the arts ranges from culinary arts to filmmaking to theater. Each discipline prepared me for the engaging yet challenging aspects of these respective fields. Whether I was chopping it up in the kitchen, storyboarding my next short film, or penning my stage play my main focus was on telling a story and telling a story that only I can tell as a Chicana from East Los Angeles. In Los Angeles, I worked with the non-profit Los Angeles Performance Practice as a Programs Associate where I administered 560,000 dollars to performing artists in Los Angeles County. This experience cemented a passion for working with performing artists and exploring the field of programming as an arts leader professional.This next stage of my life in the Pacific Northwest has uprooted me from my safety net in Los Angeles and into my Arts Leadership MFA in Seattle where I intend to serve my community here and beyond with the knowledge learned.
