Responding to a growing need for new product development in the railroad/locomotive industry, over 10 years ago I had the vision to take the home-grown locomotive consulting business of one and turn it into a company that currently has developed and manufactured over twenty-one (original or improved) designs that are used globally from Los Angeles to Canada. As CEO, I have been absolutely integral in creating the foundation of Dina Consulting & Design on a bedrock of high ethical business standards and integrity, maximizing the skills of a lean yet powerful staff and contractors, including a team of innovative engineers with over 150 years of experience, to take the locomotive industry into new areas of efficiency. Forecasting the need to be a one-stop-shop, I was the driving force behind restructuring DC&D to a vertically integrated model that set up the company to design, prototype, test, and manufacture locomotive parts under one operation. From the headquarters in Caldwell, ID, I manage operations which include a global sales team, manufacturing, and a warehouse, which houses thousands of parts. I establish/build on-site consulting and locomotive testing teams globally. I also established and oversee an online store working with graphics and marketing consultants to expand our brand. As an administrator, I manage HR, legal, booking keeping, and building/land management. There truly isn’t an area of the company that my hand doesn’t touch. Currently, I am strategically planning to scale the company to the next level, focusing on expansion opportunities in the US and globally.
