She/HerI have a Bachelor of Science with a focus in Genetics. For the past five years I have had the privilege to work and travel for science. I am lucky to have worked in some incredible science roles such as General Pathology, IVF, and with the Therapeutic Goods Administration. I am currently working as a senior Laboratory technician in Next Generation Sequencing for Molecular Genetics with Peter MacCallum Cancer Center. I have always had a love for people and a drive for innovation. I find that Molecular pathology and Cancer diagnostics has really allowed me to develop my skills and constantly reignite my appreciation for science and patient care.Alongside Molecular Diagnostics I have a keen interest in Biotherapeutics, Vaccine science and the growing potential of mRNA technologies. I enjoy working with technology and find troubleshooting and instrument maintenance extremely interesting. My current role allows for the coordination of the roster, junior team members and providing overall support to the team leader and laboratory managers. This extra level of responsibility is something that I really enjoy. As well as diagnostic laboratory medicine I have a real passion for people and communication. I believe that adaptable communication is the foundation for all successful projects and I am interested in helping develop these pathways within any team I'm in. I am always open to conversations regarding new roles and furthering education opportunities!
