My experiences included conduction surveys and distance sampling for threatened, endangered, invasive, and pest species. Over the course of the summer, I worked with piping plovers, seabeach amaranth, seabeach knotweed, white-tail deer, and Asiatic sand sedge. When working with threatened and endangered species, I erected symbolic fencing and protective exclosures, as well as informative signs to protect both beach-goers and the wildlife they shared the beach with. Working with invasive species like the Asiatic sand sedge included pulling them and disposing of them so they could not spread any further.

Driving small passenger bus around campus late at night to transport students. Students call the bus phone, and I would go pick them up at their location, and drop them off where desired. Other responsibilities include refueling and generally maintaining the bus, as well as navigating the bus during harsh weather conditions.

My job here included cashiering, helping customers find what product they needed, or advising them on a purchase, cleaning the store, stocking shelves, updating and tearing down displays, and managing the inventory.

Originally started as a bi-weekly feeder for the raptors on the property, including the bald eagle, great horned owls, red-tailed hawks, and other large birds. Food prep included gutting frozen-thawed rats and mice of various sizes, filling them with a vitamin powder, and injecting them with water. I would also go around to the different enclosures and check the conditions of the animals and their enclosures, cleaning and filling water dishes as needed, and reporting any other problems to my bosses. Eventually I was asked to aid the full-time interns with wildlife rehabilitation services on the weekends in addition to my raptor duties. This included prepping a variety of meals for the different permanent residents on the property, including a groundhog, fox, waterfowl, and various native songbirds. Meal prep was also done for the wildlife in rehabilitation, including songbirds and small mammals. Maintaining and cleaning enclosures was also part of my duties. I was also able to help administer medication and first aid to any wildlife that came in, including ointments, assisted feedings, and bandaging.

Assisted in taking care of various barn animals on the property, including chickens, goats, sheep, pigs, and a cow. Tasks included feeding, cleaning and filling water dishes, and cleaning enclosures using a variety of tools. Also maintained many of the historic buildings on the property by means of painting and cleaning them. I also offered help to guests in the park, and educated them on the history of the area as well as educating them on the various animals in the park.
