About Claudia Coca

Claudia Coca is a mechanical engineer with expertise in managing commercial, industrial and building sustainable energy projects and programs, as well as renewable energy projects. Her entire career has been focused on developing sustainable energy solutions that bring improvements to technical, economic and environmental performances for industrial and commercial companies and for communities. She has proven team and project leadership skills, having led a team of up to 20 consultants and managed students and workshops. She served as university lecturer for more than six years at National University of Engineering in Nicaragua, where she taught on thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, green building and energy efficiency for undergraduates and graduates. At the same time, she worked as program manager at the Cleaner Production Centre of Nicaragua, managing energy efficiency and renewable energy projects supported by international cooperation. During this time, she demonstrated valuable liaison skills, bringing together different stakeholders that include private and public sector, NGOs, academia and the community.In Canada, she has worked as program coordinator for mass-market residential and commercial (Save on Energy) programs at Summerhill Group. She recently worked for Plug N’ Drive as Electric Vehicle (EV) Education and Outreach Coordinator where she was responsible for managing the Used EV Incentive Program and other outreach activities around Ontario that promote the use of electric vehicles.She enjoys volunteering as ambassador for Live Green Toronto, engaging the community about programs, grants, incentives and resources.
