Principal and Technical Manager for JPL Network Development and Sustaining EngineeringResponsible for all aspects of JPL Network development and sustaining including budget, requirements, technical management, and oversight of a team of ten network engineers and two video engineers.ScopeThe JPL Network is a multi-site network supporting over 6000 users at the main campus as well as external contractor facilities. The network is comprised of approximately 16,000 nodes, 1400 multi-vendor network devices including 900 Cisco switches, 25 Cisco routers, 275 wireless access points, UPS systems, firewalls, and a variety of gateways, 140 structures, and a fiber-optic and copper cable plant totaling over 7 million feet of cable. The network provides data services within the campus and provides connectivity to external networks and the Internet. This is a mission critical network supported 24x7.
