I am a first year at the University of Virginia intending to pursue a double major in commerce and foreign affairs. I am extremely interested in the intersection between private and public sector work, which is vital in a world where the two are becoming increasingly divided. I explored these through networking with diplomats and government workers and on a smaller scale through leadership positions in Model United Nations and Doctors Without Borders clubs.Throughout high school, I sought leadership roles as Student Council President, President of the Model United Nations club, and Vice President of the Doctors Without Borders club. These positions effectively enhanced my managerial and leadership skills and reinforced the connection I want to have with the people I am supposed to serve, no matter the role.I will continue to pursue leadership roles in my new community at UVA, as well as strive to maintain and grow my skill set to prepare me for working life and a diverse range of jobs.
