Aylmer, Ontario

Facilitated collaboration between the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, local communities, and physicians. Acted as a mediator and negotiator to broker an innovative deal to form a Community Governed Blended Salary Model Family Health Team. Worked closely with local physicians to educate local politicians, councils in 3 municipalities, ministry officials, boards, and the community on the unique business and primary care model serving over 12,000 patients in the rural community. Then started and operationalized the clinic including hiring all staff, recruiting new physicians in underserved areas, moved the facilities to a collaborative space, implemented an electronic medical record system and established strategic partnerships with neighbouring health organizations.https://www.eefht.ca/

Created a business plan and operations model for the newly formed company, in addition to training and coaching the startup team in every facet of the core business, marketing and sales communications strategy, and budget presentation. Coordinated the necessary space and equipment, and facilitated the company’s successful grand opening.

Developed and opened over 30 laser centres throughout Canada and the United States. Responsible for all areas of the startup including facility set up, assisting in staff hires, training and development, as well as writing and implementing insurance, risk, operations and HR policy. Worked with each clinic until they were open for business then provided quality assurance quarterly. Established the brand throughout the United States, leading to a successful IPO.

Along with the Medical Director and CEO, established the brand and operations model during the early stages of the refractive laser industry. Successfully opened the London Ontario clinic, hired the medical and administrative teams, and established processes while combating skepticism about private medicine and physician compensation caps. At the time, TLC London was recognized as the 3rd largest centre in North America and Top 10 in the world performing >1,000 procedures/annum in the London facility. Supported Ontario clinics as a Regional Director then upon approval by the FDA, expanded into the United States.
