I founded The Human Zone after more than a decade as a practicing attorney representing public, private and non-profit organizations. Most recently, I served as Associate General Counsel, Global HR & Litigation, for an $8 billion, global CPG company. There, I led the law department's labor and employment legal team to support the global needs of the human resources organization. I also led the law department's litigation team, with responsibility for managing the company's global litigation portfolio. I worked closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer and other HR leaders, providing support and advice on organizational HR initiatives, goals, processes, procedures and enterprise risk management. I also provided guidance and information to the company's senior-most leaders, corporate board of directors and various committees.Throughout my career, I strategically counseled my clients so they could make informed, employment-related decisions while walking the tightrope of employment laws (ADA, FMLA, GINA, ADEA, wage & hour, wrongful discharge, and unemployment compensation laws to name a few). Clients also sought my counseling and advice with regard to traditional labor matters (grievances, arbitrations, unfair labor practices, collective bargaining, contract administration, and strategic planning). While working as an attorney, I served as an Adjunct Professor for The Pennsylvania State University, teaching Labor-Management Relations to MPA candidates at the Harrisburg campus.A legal background, coupled with deep experience as a trusted advisor and business partner, make The Human Zone the perfect partner for organizations of all sizes.

I began my career at Hershey as Senior Counsel, Labor-Employment-Human Resources. Within months, I was promoted to Associate General Counsel, Global HR & Litigation. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, I led the Law Department's Global Labor & Employment team to support the global legal needs of the Human Resources organization. I also led the Law Department's Global Litigation team, with responsibility for managing the Company's global litigation portfolio. I was a key legal partner for the Chief HR Officer, the HR Leadership Team and Risk Management, providing support and advice on organizational HR initiatives, goals, processes and procedures and enterprise risk management. I also supported the General Counsel with her guidance/information to the Global Leadership Team, Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and the Ethical Business Practices Committee regarding global labor & employment and litigation matters. I assisted with due diligence in the context of M&A and a target company's organizational integration.

I began my legal career as an Associate at Morgan Lewis and concluded my law firm career as an Equity Partner at Rhoads & Sinon LLP. Throughout my private practice career, I represented both public and private employers in the defense of employment-related lawsuits involving discrimination, FMLA, ERISA, ADEA, GINA, ADA, wage and hour law, employee tort, wrongful discharge, and unemployment compensation claims. I drafted employee handbooks and policies and assisted employers with traditional labor matters such as negotiations, grievance and interest arbitrations, and unfair labor practice charges. I regularly communicated directly with company management as well as in-house counsel. As a litigator, I represented employers before, among others, the PHRC, EEOC, Unemployment Compensation Board of Review, state and federal departments of labor, the NLRB, and the PLRB and for the purpose of employment-related litigation in both state and federal courts.

I began playing golf when I was 10 and competing when I was 11. I played on the Women's Varsity Golf Team at Penn State and then dabbled in the golf industry before heading to law school. I worked as an Assistant Golf Pro at Marriott properties in PA and AZ before working at a unique retail golf shop. I still play, just not as well as I used to...
