Connect: I build deep interpersonal relationships with each of the families that I babysit by taking the time to understand the children and open up to them. I noticed that this causes the children I babysit to build trust with me and eventually treat me as a close, respected friend. As a result, I have managed to keep in contact with over five of the families that I babysit for. I enjoy connecting with and building deep, meaningful relationships with these families who I truly believe will be in my life long term. Serve: I was an intern for Coldwell Banker Realty, and my boss tasked me to create a visually appealing handout to give to her clients. I had never been taught how to format and design on word or any digital platform for that matter, so this was a very challenging task for me. I went home that night and got straight to work. I watched videos and taught myself how to format and design a professional handout. This project took me almost five hours because I worked tirelessly to get it to be perfect. The next day I gave my boss the handout, and she loved it so much that she added it to the portfolio she gives to potential clients. Ambitious: I studied tirelessly over quarantine in order to get an SAT score that was high enough for me to be a direct admit into Kelley. Due to covid restrictions during my junior and senior years of high school, time slots to take the SAT were very limited. I came to the realization that I would only have one shot at taking the SAT. This inspired me to work extremely hard in order to prepare for this test. I studied for two hours twice a week at a minimum, and I was able to consistently keep up with this schedule. I also proceeded to take practice tests on the weekends. Eventually, the time came for me to take my SAT test. I was confident, level-headed, and prepared. As a result, I was able to score high enough to guarantee me a spot in the Kelley school of business as a direct admit.
