Design hedging strategies to mitigate the financial risk derived from the coffee trading operations.In addition to the role of Risk Analyst, I performed as Coffee Trader since June of 2007 till August of 2008.Achievements• Designed and put into operation coffee forward contracts in order to allow coffee growers to sell their crops in advance using fixed price and floor price schemes.• Participated in the design to hedge the exchange rate risk using derivatives.• Assessed and structured a cash and carry operation for coffee inventories.• Designed a Market Risk Management System for coffee cooperatives, giving them tools to control risks derived from their buying and selling trades in the internal market• Created strategies to protect the Freeze Dried Coffee Plant against the increasing price of its raw material and reductions in the Exchange Rate• Structured an institutional program to teach coffee growers how to hedge their risk with the support of resources from the Colombian Government.
