As a teacher leader, and National Board Certified Teacher for more than 27 years, I have extended my circle of influence from the classroom, while facilitating professional development across the state of California. I am the teacher voice as a member of the CA Community of Practice, now CMEC. Being a part of the Instructional Leadership Corps for 7 years, expanded my professional relationships. Honored as LAUSD, and Los Angeles County Teacher of the Year, and CA Semi-Finalist, has inspired me to continue my experience as a learner and teacher leader. As CA state finalist in the Presidential Awards for Excellence Mathematics and Science Teaching, I continue to strive for depth of understanding in all areas, for ALL students, everywhere. Attending and presenting at various conferences is an integral part of sharing work, as well as gaining new information from researchers and experts in the field. Leading math lesson study, with a focus in equity, has intensified my commitment to developing student agency in our classrooms, and school districts. I have been a speaker for the National Math and Science Conferences, as well as many state, regional and district conferences focused on equity and access for all students. I am passionate, and dedicated to educating students, collaborating with colleagues, and developing educational leaders for tomorrow's learners!
