Following his passion for the sea and boats, Claudio started his sea life as a deck officer in 1977 after completing his studies at the Nautical Institute in Messina. He took his Master licence at the minimum required age, assuming his first command on board a large ferry at 27, subsequently spending five years as Master on board six different passenger and car ferries. After this experience, he sailed mostly on board luxury cruise vessels, completing 20 years of sea service. In 1997 V.Ships Ltd. offered Claudio a position ashore in the technical department where he built up his office experience, continuously working for the luxury cruise industry. Claudio has over 20 years of experience in the luxury yachting industry and the wider commercial marine industry as a Technical Safety Superintendent. In 2008, he founded CD Marine, a company that offers a wide range of professional services, including Nautical Inspection for Marshall Islands and Liberia administrations, project management for new-build, refit, and conversion projects, and technical assistance and maintenance planning for Owners and their representatives.Since 2014, Claudio has been a lead auditor for ISM and ISPS, and in 2011 he became an Auditor for the Maritime Labour Convention. He is authorized to conduct ISM, ISPS, and MLC Audits on behalf of the Liberian Flag Administration.With his extensive knowledge and experience, Claudio provides invaluable guidance and expertise to his clients in the marine industry.
