Write, produce, and edit daily news topicals, promotables for sweeps stories or other big nights, and PSA’s. As a topical producer I have revolutionized both the look and tone of topicals at KMGH by developing a system to produce them in HD, as well as the use of extremely conversational copy. These changes resulted in KMGH being number one in all key demographics 3 out of 4 Mondays during the May 2011 sweeps period. I am also on the social media committee responsible for developing a comprehensive strategy for the use of social media across all the McGraw-Hill television stations.

Wrote, produced and edited high volume of station image, episodic, topical news promotion and PSA’s for TV, radio and web using Avid Adrenaline and meeting aggressive daily deadlines. Planned, coordinated and produced remote and studio shoots, working with photographers, crew and talent on tight timelines. Worked with graphic artists to create effective and eye-catching graphics.

Managed a staff of four editors. Worked closely with news management on editing protocols and procedures. Maintained departmental budget. Ordered tape and related supplies for news department. Utilized time management skills to ensure all stories made slot on a timely basis, often coordinating with assignment desk and producers. Edited PKG’s, VO’s, SOT’s, Cold Opens, and other elements for nightly newscast.
