What would you do if you were given one limited wish?What if this wish consisted of say 80-90 years where you were responsible for making it come true?Personally I don't know the answer to that question, though I do know that I would definitely want to use it to make some sort of meaningful impact, however miniscule it would seem in the larger scheme of things.I try do this in my personal life and I try to do this at work.Innovation and digital transformation for me is the way I have been able to make a meaningful impact with my clients. Not only to their organisations, but to all the people involved. People are important and selfishly I enjoy just getting to know more about them, more about you.I work towards real impact, real tangible innovation, real business results, real culture change. I personally abhor innovation theatre, but I understand how it has come to be so widespread. Quick test on if your initiative adds up to theatre - how many of the ideas that come out of your hackathons, accelerators, incubators, challenges, clinics, workshops, etc., have now been rolled out and scaled either internally or externally? If the answer is, I have a nice t-shirt from our last initiative and the media release was great- you have your answer right there.Corporate innovation is a tough nut to crack, and I love working together with great people to solve for this in their particular context.I can't say that I always succeed. I have failed many times in my life and in my career.But hey, these things are hard, and that's what makes them worth doing. Honestly I don't think I could do something else if I tried!
