About Clay Hicks

I was a brand new firefighter in 1996, and since then have worked my way up through Leiutenant, Captain, and finally Battalion Chief via hard work, team management, continuing education, leadership development, and general self improvement. During that time, and due to an accomodating shift schedule, I was able to aquire my NC licensed General Contractor license in 2008, and also acquired my NC Home Inspector's license during that time. I thouroughly enjoy working in both of those fields. Oh, and my wife and I owned a gym for 10 years, as well. All of these experiences taught me people, scheduling, finance, and time management skills. I'll soon be retiring from the fire department and am looking forward to my next challenge.
