Acted as lead engineer for the design and integration of various systems within the context of driverless technology/autonomy. Most significantly, this included the development of drive-by-wire and related control systems implemented on safety-rated ECUs following MISRA-C and other safety standards. In addition, I contributed to the design of full electromechanical systems including component integration, design and assembly of wiring harnesses and even light PCB development when needed.Lastly, I contributed to novel algorithm development, particularly as related to manual path modification for obstacle avoidance. Camera calibration via OpenCV and other proprietary methods was also a focus of my work for a time.

Led hardware-focused team in developing systems and bringing up new vehicles for autonomy applications. Coordinated with multidisciplinary teams across the organization to ensure requirements and timelines were being flushed out and clearly communicated to various stakeholders. Led the development of a new product (K1) including the manufacturing and assembly of the first prototype. Decreased cost of indoor robot (K3) by 3.5% through redesign of electrical layout while simultaneously removing failure points/bottlenecks for service and production. Cut cost of outdoor robot (K5) by 1.75% while increasing weatherproofing and service/manufacturability.

Reduced TAKT time by 55% within the first two months. Performed electrical and mechanical service/troubleshooting of robotic systems as well as full teardown and assembly. Manufactured prototypes in house (FDM, CNC Milling), worked with outside suppliers for final versions of product. Designed, prototyped, tested and iterated new charging system. Collaborated with EE team and VP of Design in establishing functional design/aesthetics. Trained technicians in service and production tasks. Supervised and provided technical support when necessary.
