I am an Intermediate Engineer in the Engineering Leadership Development Program (ELDP) at Naval Nuclear Laboratories (Fluor Marine Propulsion). The ELDP has provided me with the opportunity to experience multiple types of engineering activities (examples: structural analysis, radiographic testing, and tolerance stack-up analysis), and enabled me to develop project management and leadership skills (examples: creating work plans, maintaining A3 sheets, communicating with stakeholders, and organizing project meetings). I entered the ELDP as a prior intern, and am using the opportunities it has afforded me to become a well-rounded engineer and prepare for a leadership position later in my career.Beyond engineering, I am a hobbyist welder. I completed five semesters of structural welding vocational training through the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) curriculum prior to studying Mechanical Engineering. My love for manufacturing encouraged me to study manufacturing-related topics such as welding metallurgy, fracture mechanics, metal fatigue, and design for manufacture (DFM) as part of my graduate school education. I like knowing I have the skills to manufacture things I design and have recently expanded my manufacturing hobbies into 3D printing with a Qidi X-Pro dual extruder 3D printer.
