Specifically, the COS resolution calls for: (1) placing fiscal restraints on the federal government; (2) reining in the power and jurisdiction of the federal government; and (3) placing term limits on federal officials and members of Congress. COS is now endorsed by nationally recognized leaders such retired Senator Tom Coburn and Texas Governor Greg Abbott, and is steadily gaining bipartisan support across the country.In 2014, three states (AK, FL & GA) passed COS resolutions. In 2015, thirty-eight states introduced the COS resolution for consideration and a fourth state (AL) passed the resolution, and over fifteen more states passed it in one house, and positioned themselves for full passage in 2016. Since February 2016, Tennessee, Indiana and Oklahoma became the fifth, sixth and seventh states respectively to pass the COS resolution.The federal government has far overreached its constitutionally-established boundaries.
