My name is Clayton Watson, I’m from Chattanooga, Tennessee, and I am currently a freshman interested in studying business at TCU in the Neeley School of Business. I am actively exploring the Management and Leadership major. I was first introduced to Management and Leadership during my sophomore year of high school after taking a class called Social Justice in Action and learning about the Women's Rights Movement. To this day I have a strong desire to be the first woman in my family to work at the family business, which is running car dealerships. I believe that running car dealerships is a largely male dominated profession, which has ultimately pushed me closer to wanting to go into the profession because you don't frequently hear of a woman working in the auto industry. I'm drawn to this opportunity not only because I'd be the fourth generation running the business but because I'd be the first woman in the family to take on the role. Currently, I'm enrolled in Business and Society and Business Skills Development. I'm hoping to leave these classes with a better grasp of how business influences society and with more professional skills that will be useful to me in the future. I also plan to participate in an internship in the auto industry my sophomore year to get a hands-on experience.
