With over 22 years of experience in educational technology, I am passionate about helping educators and learners leverage the power of technology to enhance teaching and learning. As the Assistant Director of Learning Technologies at Drake University, I lead a team of professionals who support the campus community in selecting and adopting technologies that align with the university's needs and goals. I also work as a Lead Academic Technology Partner, acting as a liaison between the colleges and the IT department, and ensuring positive and productive interactions. My mission is to create a greater level of technology efficacy and adoption across campus, and to foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.In my current roles, I use my skills in course design and development, social networking, and web-based platforms to assist faculty, staff, and students in integrating technology into their curriculum and pedagogy. I also evaluate new technologies and research opportunities, and provide training and consultation on various tools and platforms. Some of the projects I have been involved in include: The creation of multiple HyFlex learning spaces. Migration of our LMS platform. The adoption and roll out of Teams communications across campus. the Virtual Language Project, which uses web-based applications to create immersive language learning environments, and the Language Center, which provides resources and support for language instructors and learners.
