As the CEO of Open to Debate (formerly Intelligence Squared U.S.), America’s premiere forum for debate, Clea Conner is on a mission to restore civility, respect, and intelligence to the public square. Clea has produced more than 200 award-winning public policy programs spanning technology, culture, economics, law, and global affairs, convening the world’s most influential voices on the most provocative questions of our time. Named one of Crain’s New York “40 Under 40," Clea developed "Up For Debate" and "That's Debatable" as television programs on Bloomberg, PBS, and Newsy, and produced the first debate between artificial intelligence and a human debater in partnership with IBM's historic Project Debater. She holds more than two dozen awards for excellence in public affairs programming in radio, television, and podcasting.Additionally, Clea has served as Strategic Advisor to GZERO Media among other media and technology startups. She led national marketing campaigns for best-selling authors, journalists, and public officials at Greater Talent Network; launched speaking networks for Hachette Book Group and Simon and Schuster; and developed integrated marketing campaigns for BMG, Columbia House, and other direct-to-consumer entertainment brands.A classically trained flutist, Clea also designed public affairs campaigns for The Center for Arts Education to restore arts programming in New York City public schools. She is a member of the Greenwich House Chamber Music Society and has recorded original compositions for documentary films.
