Sociologist with an avid interest in housing and spatial planning. Currently active as housing policy advisor @ Province of Antwerp, Belgium. I am developing products to aid local governments in making informed housing policy decisions (woonscans) and research formulas for providing affordable housing.In May 2022 I defended my PhD on the transformation of planning culture and urbanisation in Flanders. During my PhD I taught and wrote about spatial planning, urbanisation, public space, residential preferences, and cities and technology.Previous activities: studies in Sociology (M.Sc, 2007) and philosophy (MA, 2011) at the University of Amsterdam. Working for several Amsterdam-based architecture firms. Teaching assistant in the department of Sociology at the University of Amsterdam (2009-2012). Policy researcher at IDEA Consult and researcher in the Policy Centre for Housing at the Free University of Brussels.Next to the work-related things in life, I am father of two lovely daughters, a coffee enthusiast (also known as snob), love a good novel, immersive simulation video games, and am blessed with a little boy's fascination with anything related to trains.Common mistakes in spelling my name: Clement, Clements, Clemence, deOlde, den, Olden, Older.
