I worked for 4 months as a Site Engineer for Demathieu & Bard a french construction company. The firm has been created in 1861, today it's annual revenue is one Billion €, specialized in engineering structures 25% of the revenue come from this specialisation.The project was included into a bigger project which is called the "Grand Paris", the project consists to develop the surrounding areas of Paris with new buildings and new transport infrastructure such as metro and tramway. I was working on a project of the extension of the line 14 of the metro, it was the construction of a new access to the metro station "Olympiades", the objective of this project is to expand the metro wagon from 6 to 8. The main challenge of the project was the earthwork, digging a 30 meter hole near high buildings with the metro still running right below it. The project started back in January 2015 and finish in march 2018. Demathieu & bard were the general company managing all the projects. I worked on a part of the earthwork and the beginning of the civil work. During this professional experience, I learned specific skills : Technical skills : - Conception of execution methods - Follow up of the structural work (concrete orders, equipment, workers follow up)- Update of the general planning (every week)- Manage the interaction between workers- Quality reports to the client- Conception of plans (falsework, layout)- Firms consultation (for falsework)- Participation to site meetings (minute reports)Human skills : - Contact with the client, the architects, the design office- Communication with workers from differents country - Communication with the foreman, the project manager and the project manager- Being more autonomous and organized in the following of the work

The construction has been made with the "top and down" technique. It consists in building the superstructure at the same time than the infrastructure (the foundations were diaphragm walls in place before).
