Consultant, Transforming Care Plan
Commissioned by Barking, Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge Transforming Care Partnership (Councils, CCGs and NHS Trusts), to write Tri-Borough Transforming Care Plan for submission to Department of Health. As required by Transforming Care Programme, to improve the lives of children, young people and adults with a learning disability (or autism) displaying challenging behaviours, including those with mental health condition.
Citizen Engagement Lead
SLIC was a cross-borough partnership between GPs, Guy’s and St Thomas’, South London and Maudsley, and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts, the Councils, CCGs, and voluntary and community sectors of Southwark and Lambeth. I managed multiple initiatives across workstreams including: a community engagement project to generate citizen-led ‘i-statements’ for commissioning of all health and social care in Lambeth and Southwark; co-production of innovative ‘catheter passports’ project shortlisted for Guy’s and St Thomas’ Involvement to Impact Award. King’s Fund report found my ‘involvement of citizens in Older Peoples Programme’ to be a ‘major achievement’.

Commissioned to write Haringey’s response to Department of Health's Caring for Our Future consultation; following local consultation with stakeholders on the White Paper proposals for reforming care and support.
Project Manager, Neighbourhoods Connect
I established, following a successful bid for 6-months funding from DCLG, the borough’s flagship big society research project (featuring prominently in the Labour Group manifesto). It achieved its objective of promoting the independence of 'vulnerable' older people in the community. I also twice successfully bid for £100k+ DH winter funding to lead social work (2011) and multi-agency Warm and Well teams (2012) to provide package of positive support and interventions to prevent avoidable and more costly service dependency; and secured Leisure Services funding to extend a network of volunteer-run internet drop-ins across the borough’s libraries. Neighourhoods Connect continued to flourish into 2016 with the support of Groundwork London and Better Care Fund.
Policy Team Manager (Adult Services)
I led Adult Services Policy Team, and overhauled policies to facilitate, Transforming Social Care (TSC) agenda, corporate restructure and centralisation of policy functions across the Council. As member of TSC steering group, I led on policy and user/carer engagement and co-produced suite of policies and procedures to support Personalisation agenda. I established a network of user/carer reference groups and lay representation on Older People, Carer, Disabilities and Mental Health Partnership Boards. I successfully bid for £100k+ from Department for Communities and Local Government to fund Neighbourhoods Connect, a project which I was then commissioned to manage.

I led, as the sole policy offer for much of this period, on writing policies, procedures, strategies and briefings across the directorate, ensuring compliance with national legislation and guidance.
