I am currently a student at the University of South Australia studying a Bachelor Degree of Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship, with an emphasis in marketing. My current role as a sales representative at Total Tools, enables the skills and knowledge to be challenged and developed towards my future career path. I have also previously studied in primary education for one year, before deciding to change degrees. This change was challenging and scary, but knowing what I know now, I am happy with the decision I made. This experience allowed me to work as an educator for over a year, working with additional needs children and in a fast-paced environment taught me communication skills within my team of educators. It is crucial in this environment to be adaptable and I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked in a rewarding and skillful industry. Throughout my career I've had my boss, managers, co-workers, and peers describe me as a highly-motivated, determined, committed and passionate employee and friend. My core values within a workplace consist of acknowledgment/ recognition, teamwork/ communication, growth opportunity, and attention to detail. I love an opportunity to learn, growing up in a business environment had taught me how important it is to go the extra mile to make someone else’s job easier. I am always eager to learn more in my current role as a salesperson.A key strength of mine is being able to control certain situations. As someone who has experience working in retail, the umpiring netball community, and as an educator. Whether this is controlling and managing from a shop floor salesperson, on the netball court, or with children who require additional needs. Communication is essential in these working environments. Working as an educator for over a year, I have learnt how crucial verbal communication can be. Especially, when communicating to a child who is in a frantic state, there are certain strategies to help de-escalate the situation. These similar skills have assisted me in a retail environment, as sometimes conflict arises. Certain language is useful in these situations. I will be graduating in July of 2025, I am planning to pursue a career in marketing before venturing out into business. I hope to join a fun, hard-working and skillful team to assist with their goals and values. For the moment I will continue my studies, taking time to travel throughout the holidays and get as much experience as I can.
