Captivated by the lung tumor microenvironment and how our understanding about it can alleviate the sobering clinical response rates that are observed upon antitumor immunotherapy today. Aim?     I work as assistant professor/ junior group leader at the Molecular Imaging and Therapy (MITH) group of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). My group's aims to unravel and tackle resistance mechanisms that hamper effective immunotherapy for (lung) cancer. Therefore we strive for relevant solid tumor models such as multicellular spheroids, orthotopic tumor models and patient-derived data and material (i.c.w. University Hospital Brussel).
